Girl Around Town Holiday Guide SPORTY gift ideas by The Blonde Side

The lovely ladies (Leigh and Mary) over at Girl Around Town contacted The Blonde Side to contribute to their annual holiday guide for the 2012 holidays. The fashionable gals were looking to add a sporty element to their already fashionable gift ideas for pretty much anyone.

Clearly I live (and work) in all things sporty and us gals need gifts too, right? Why not ask someone who loves and knows sports and leads an insanely active lifestyle (moi)?

The lovely and talented Blythe Brumleve of GuysGirl interviewed The Blonde Side as part of her MLB Female Fan Series talking about Jayme’s love and foundation for the Texas Rangers.

How long have you been a baseball fan?

Um, does forever count?

Where did your initial love for baseball come from?

When I was little, every time I got in trouble (which was a lot) my dad forced me to sit on the couch and watch sports – Nascar and golf were the worst, but thanks to my grandpa explaining the game of baseball to me, I came to know and love the sport early on.

What is single most thing you look forward to while at a baseball game?

The end of the game when the Rangers win

Double G Sports Interview

Interview on Double G Sports for Women’s History Month with their “Women in Sports” feature. The Blonde Side was recently interviewed by Courtney Aurillo of Double G Sports  as part of their month long project to feature women in sports – both big and small. The Blonde Side was in great company with the likes of some other great names like Jennie Finch, Chloe Sutton, Jessica Mendoza, Chantal Sutherland, Jen Royale, Jessica Quioli and many others.

Women’s Adventure Magazine Feature

The Blonde Side was recently listed as a "Featured Contributor" in the Spring 2012 issue of Women's Adventure Magazine. Check out the fun little bio and photo (photo by Vanderford Photography).

Since you may not be able to read said bio, here it is in all its glory: “A star athlete since the age of 5 struggling to pop a wheelie to impress a boy, Jayme has always had a knack for adventure and sports. Playing them, watching them, bossing other people around on how to play them – the whole nine. After working in professional sports in PR and marketing for 5 long years, Jayme was finally escorted out of the industry for what some would call non – PC behavior. Originally from Virginia, she is currently based out of Houston and spends her days (and nights) as a freelance writer in travel and sports, mostly in a full-court press writing her wildly opinionated sport’s column, TheBlondeSide.com.”

Material Video Interview

Sometimes The Blonde Side even does videos (no, not those kind mom). Check out this video with Kellie Lewis of Material during a party at SXSW in Austin. [Remember, if you want your very own custom Material shirt, be sure to mention The Blonde Side when placing your order for $5 off an already ridiculous price.] And big thanks to Brandon Prebynski for shooting and editing the video – even though he considered it something “straight off the O Network.”

The Blonde Side Previews Texans vs Eagles for Yardbarker

Back in December 2010, the Yardbarker column written by Houston Sports and More (HSM) asked The Blonde Side to preview Week 13 with the Houston Texans headed to her beloved Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial.

She highlights Mike Vick, Trent Cole and of course Andre Johnson of the Texans.

The lovely Asian sensation, Susan Shan, recently interviewed Jayme Lamm of The Blonde Side for her weekly feature titled, “Hot Fan.”

It’s Wednesday again, which means you need another Hot Fan feature to get you over the hump. So, let me introduce you to Jayme, a hot 28-year-old writer who’s proud of her blonde locks and probably knows more about sports than you do.

Jayme is originally from Chesapeake, VA. Her father really wanted a son but got stuck with her, so he taught her how to throw perfect spirals and highly encouraged active participation in sports. As a result, she began playing softball at an early age and went on to play the sport in college at George Mason.

Yes, that George Mason. “Final Four ring a bell?!” Jayme asked.
