3 Must-Have Products For Entertaining
We are all spending more time at home, but me, it’s not quite so bad since we just moved into our brand-new dream home in Castle Rock, and I’m kind of settling in to this new role as hostess with the hostess. (As least in my own mind.)
I have really begin to love entertaining, but that means I need to have certain things on hand at all times – usually in the form of food and booze, and the occasional charcuterie board. Maybe much hasn’t changed since college, huh?
Martell Blue Swift is the first-ever spirit drink made of cognac VSOP, finished in bourbon barrels and it’s ideal to have on-hand (or give as a gift) for a few reasons. The main reason is because it’s smooth enough to enjoy on its own, over ice, or beautifully mixed and served as a cocktail.
Two of my favorite drink recipes using Martell:
Grey Day Toddy
o 1.5 part Martell Blue Swift
o 1 dash Angostura bitters
o 4 parts Earl Grey Tea (hot)
o 0.5 part Vanilla syrup
o 1 part Cream or non-dairy mixer
o All all ingredients in a small pan or milk frother, heat until steaming, serve in a glass mug or Irish coffee glass
Huncho Special
o 2 parts Martell Blue Swift
o 1 part Lemon juice
o 1 part Orange liqueur
o 1 peel Orange
o Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, shake well until the metal frosts, strain into cocktail glass, garnish with a twist of orange peel
You can find this beautiful bottle at most liquor stores nationwide & ReserveBar.com for about $67.
Good Ranchers Meat Subscription Boxes
Having a huge supply of Good Ranchers quality steaks and chicken on hand has been a game changer,
not just for hosting people for dinner, or having the family over on Sundays, but for weeknight dinners when we don’t feel like making a big fuss about it or running to the store.
Good Ranchers is a Houston-based company that offers four curated meat subscription boxes all with 100% American, locally sourced and delicious meat. It’s all delivered individually packaged and vacuum sealed, so once you get it, it’s easy to store in your freezer to give you meals for days (or actually months!).
Before they started selling steaks online, we used to hit up their pop up locations in Denver and in Houston and really fell in love with the brand. I don’t know if they still sell their kobe burgers, but those were out of this world delicious.
If you choose to order one of their subscription boxes, you can pick your frequency of every 4 or 6 weeks for a new box, plus you’ll save 20%, or you can order it once.
Use code BLOGGERS25 for $25 off your first order and get ready to enjoy the best meat subscription box! Also, did I mention it’s delivered straight to your front door for free? Super easy decision for me since I already dislike the grocery store times 100.
I have posted about this urban winery a ton, especially all over my social media, but I always have a few bottles on hand. They have a winery in Denver’s RiNo district (the super artsy and fun and way too hip part of town for yours truly) and their wine never disappoints.
In my recent time over hosting, I have also learned it’s wise to have a few varietals on hand, since not everyone likes to drink the same stuff as you, and it’s just the polite thing to do. I keep a few bottles of resiling on hand, because that’s always a favorite, though most of those are usually a bit too sweet for me.
Infinite Monkey are the ones that got me started on canned wine and canned rosé, but their rosé in a bottle is my absolute favorite. Definitely give them a try, and if you’re in Houston, most H-E-B stores carry their canned wine.
