Texans Kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn At Pokéworks Montrose

Ka’imi Fairbairn at Pokéworks Montrose

I love all things Montrose, Hawaii and Houston Texans football, so I am so bummed I’m missing out on this fun event around the corner from Encore Montrose later today.

Check out this fun event for a good cause, and hang out with one of your favorite Texans players while you’re at it. See the official press release below and tag me on FB if you go, so I won’t have as much FOMO. It’s today from 5-6pm so don’t miss out! Plus, delicious poké is always a good idea!

Native Hawaiian Houston Texans Kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn Joins Forces with Pokéworks Montrose to Celebrate King Kamehameha Day on June 11

10 percent of proceeds benefit “The Ocean Cleanup”

WHO: Pokéworks in Montrose

WHAT: In honor of King Kamehameha Day, Houston Texans Kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn will celebrate the national Hawaiian holiday on Tuesday, June 11 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at the Pokéworks Montrose location on Westheimer Rd. Four Hawaiian dancers will perform a lei–draping ceremony for attendees. June is also National Iced Tea Month; therefore, guests will enjoy complementary all organic Tractor Teas and Sodas from 5:00-6:00 p.m. This celebration is also taking place during Pokeworks new “Power Hour” from 4-6 p.m., which means $2 off all brews! Ten percent of the proceeds all day will benefit The Ocean Cleanup, a nonprofit organization that develops technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. Ka’imi will be available for photos during the festivities.

King Kamehameha Day honors Kamehameha the Great, the Hawaiian forefather who first established the unified Kingdom of Hawaii, comprising the five Hawaiian Islands. It is celebrated annually on June 11 and festivities extend the entire month of June in Hawaii. Ka’imi loves poke and is proud of his Hawaiian heritage. He chose early on to go by his Hawaiian name. Ka’imi was born in Kailua, Hawaii, on the east side of Oahu and went to Punahou High School, which is President Obama’s alma mater; he also played for UCLA.
